Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Tripoli

Upon arrival at Mitiga International Airport, our meet-and-greet manager will assist you through customs and immigration before transferring you to the Victoria Hotel. On the way, you’ll catch your first glimpses of life in the capital. At the hotel, meet your English-speaking guide, who will brief you on your upcoming journey. After lunch, the tour begins with a visit to the WWII Cemetery, followed by an old Christian church and more sites reflecting Tripoli’s layered history. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 – Leptis Magna

After breakfast, drive to the magnificent site of Leptis Magna, a Phoenician trading port that flourished for nearly a millennium. During the reign of the Libyan-born Emperor Septimius Severus, it became one of Rome’s greatest cities, home to more than 100,000 people. Buried for centuries under sand, it was rediscovered in the 20th century, revealing its vast forums, arches, basilicas, and marble streets. Return to Tripoli for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Jabal Nafusa

Travel south into the dramatic mountain landscapes of Jebel Nafusa, the cultural heartland of the Berber people. Visit the 12th-century fortified granary of Qasr al-Haj, one of the “World’s 80 Greatest Treasures” (BBC). Continue to the abandoned stone village of Tarmeisa, perched dramatically over the valleys of the Sahel al-Jefara, then on to Yefren, with its enchanting valleys and groves. End the day in Gharyan, known for its troglodyte cave dwellings, olive oil, and traditional crafts. Return to Tripoli for overnight.

Day 4 – Sabratha & Tripoli

In the morning, explore Sabratha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site founded by the Canaanites and later shaped by Carthaginian, Phoenician, Numidian, and Roman rule. Its seaside theater, temples, and public buildings make it one of Libya’s most beautiful archaeological treasures. In the afternoon, discover early 20th-century Italian Tripoli, strolling through its elegant neighborhoods and squares. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Tripoli.

Day 5 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Mitiqa International Airport for your departure flight—taking with you unforgettable memories of Libya’s history, culture, and landscapes.
