Across Libya’s shifting sands, the journey begins in Tripoli, where echoes of empires linger. A flight carries you south to Ubari, gateway to the desert’s hidden gems. Among the ruins of Germa, the stones whisper of the Garamantians, a people who once defied Rome beneath the blazing sun. Days unfold in the stillness of the Ubari Lakes—emerald waters cradled by golden dunes, silent and eternal. Nights settle beneath the desert sky, where the horizon glows with fire and stars. At last, the path leads back to Tripoli’s winding streets, a farewell to the oasis and the timeless heart of the Sahara.
Transfer to Tripoli Mitiga Airport after breakfast to board a domestic flight to Ubari. We spend the afternoon exploring the ancient ruins of Germa. Here we discover the history of the Garamantian civilization and their struggle to defend their desert empire against the Romans.
The following day is devoted to exploring the breathtaking Ubari Lakes. Among the highlights are the remote and picturesque Um el Maa Lake, Mafu Lake, Gabr Ouan, and Mindara.
We bid farewell to our desert oasis and transfer to Ubari or Sabha Airport for our return flight to Tripoli. The afternoon is free to wander through the old town at leisure, offering time to reflect on the journey and take in the final impressions of this fascinating country.
On the final day, you will be transfered to Mitiga Airport after breakfast.
